About Boothby

The electorate of Boothby was first proclaimed in 1903 and is named after William Boothby CMG 1829–1903, the Returning Officer for the first election of Members of the House of Representatives in 1901. Boothby covers an area of approximately 115 square kilometres and takes in more than 167,000 residents from the hills to the sea.

Boothby is home to more than 50 schools, the University of Adelaide Waite Campus, Flinders University, Flinders Medical Centre and the Olympic standard SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre at Marion. It also encompasses one of Adelaide’s major retail precincts the Marion Shopping Centre and the Warradale Army Barracks.
