Delivering for you

Since my election, I have fought for and delivered on the projects and issues that you have told me you would like to see fixed.

I am committed to making life easier for you and your family however I can, whether that be by making our roads safer and more efficient, by reducing your cost of living pressures or by making sure you have access to the essential health and education services you need.

I work closely with local residents, community groups and across all levels of government to deliver local projects and help shape public policy.

I am proud that in my first term as a Member of Parliament I have been able to contribute in many areas which, before now, were not on the Federal Government’s agenda. From funding the Oaklands Crossing Grade Separation and the Springbank Intersection Upgrade to taking action on the health condition Endometriosis and reactivating the Repat, I will always work to improve the lives of those in our community and all Australians.

Listed below are just some of the projects I am proud to have delivered for our local community.

Delivered for Boothby

Supporting Women with Endometriosis

Helping women with endometriosis has been one of my priorities in federal parliament. Working with clinicians, patient advocate groups & my Parliamentary colleagues we achieved so much in a short space of time. I am proud to have helped launch the first ever National Action Plan for Endometriosis, deliver more than $4.7 million for research and education, and increase awareness across Australia in schools and workplaces.

Oaklands Crossing Grade Separation

The $174 million Oaklands Crossing Grade Separation is being delivered thanks to a $95 million contribution from the Federal Government.

After 40 years of traffic delays and frustration, I am proud to have helped deliver this for our community by securing the first-ever funding commitment in 2016. This is a critical infrastructure project for our community and the tens of thousands of commuters who travel through the intersection daily.

Flinders Link Rail Project

The Morrison Liberal Government has delivered the $141 million Flinders Link project, jointly funded with the Marshall Liberal Government.

The project includes:

  • A new public transport link to the city for local residents, students and staff at Flinders University, and doctors, nurses and patients at Flinders
    Medical Centre;
  • 650 metre extension of the Tonsley rail line;
  • Construction of the new Flinders and Tonsley Railway Stations; and
  • An integrated shared pedestrian/cycle pathway.

Marion Road Planning Study

Congestion on Marion Road is a daily challenge for motorists, which is why I fought for and secured $2 million for the Marion Road Planning Study.

The Study will identify and assess options to improve road safety and the flow of traffic along Marion Road between Anzac Highway and Cross Road, including at major intersections and level crossings.

Hewett Reserve Upgrade – Blackwood

Home to the Blackwood Tennis Club, Coromandel Cricket Club and the Woods Panthers Netball Club, Hewett Reserve in Blackwood is an important community recreation space. I was delighted to secure $400,000 for the upgrade of the clubrooms Hewett Reserve. Matched funding was also provided by the City of Mitcham and the South Australian State Liberal Government.

Flagstaff Community Centre – Flagstaff Hill

I secured $400,000 to deliver a much needed upgrade of the Flagstaff Community Centre in 2016. As the home of a range of sporting and community groups, hundreds of locals pass through the doors of the Centre each week. The City of Onkaparinga and the South Australia State Liberal Government also contributed funding to this very important local project.

Kenilworth Football Club / St Marys Sports Park Upgrade – St Marys

I am proud to have delivered $358,000 in federal funding toward the $1.5 million upgrade of the St Marys Sports Park clubrooms and change facilities for the Kenilworth Football Club. The upgrade was also supported by the Marshall Liberal Government, the City of Mitcham and the AFL.

Black Spot Funding for Jetty Road – Brighton

I helped secure $296,000 to improve road safety on Jetty Road, Brighton. Funded through the government’s Black Spot Programme, the upgrade and widening of the intersections of Jetty Road and Cedar Avenue, The Crescent, Torr Avenue and Commercial Road have improved safety for motorists and pedestrians.

Warradale Park Tennis Club - Warradale

I was pleased to deliver $250,000 towards the upgrade of the Warradale Park Tennis Club. The club is a central part of the Warradale community, with club members, parents and players, having long fought for upgraded facilities to support safety and club growth.

Wirraparinga Loop Trail Green Army Project – Brownhill Creek

Brownhill Creek is significant to so many people in our community so I was delighted to secure $200,000 towards the upgrade of the Wirraparinga Trail Loop. This Green Army project supported the upgrade of two kilometres of the trail and removed seven hectares of woody weeds, assisting in the rehabilitation of the grey box grassy woodlands and endangered species.
